Quick and Healthy 'Bring A Plate' Ideas

Its coming into party season. Yaaaah!!

I love parties and I love food. I love the opportunity to come together and share food!

Here are some really simple and healthy ideas for you to take to those ‘bring a plate’ parties.

Many of these meals can be frozen – so if you have a few events coming up, you could easily do a cook up and pop some in the freezer for quick option.

Salmon Patties

These look great served with skewers on a bed of spinach with a side of sweet chilli sauce


  • ½ medium sweet potato peeled and chopped roughly

  • 1 x 400 gram tin of pink salmon

  • 1 x egg

  • 2 x tablespoons of sweet chilli sauce

  • 1 Tablespoon of wholemeal flour or psyllium husk


Steam sweet potato until soft. Preheat oven to 180 degrees.

Add all ingredients to food processor and process until combined.

Make into small patties, place onto a lined oven tray and cook for around 30 minutes.

Lamb Kofta These are delicious and easy party food. Sausage Rolls Who doesn’t love a good sausage roll? These can be cut into smaller bite size pieces and also made ahead and frozen. These can also be made with Gluten free puff pastry.

Option to swap Pork for lentils with a tomato based sauce.


Mini Pizzas

These 3 ingredient pizzas can be made on plain flour or gluten free flour – get creative with the toppings! Gluten Free Salmon Quiche

This is simple, delicious and packs a nutritional punch.

Zucchini Slice This is always a favourite in our house. Cut in small bite pieces for the party!

Zucchini Fritters Zucchinis are so versatile – this makes a great party snack that is high in protein and nutrients

Delicious Healthy Christmas Cake This has to be my favourite!! I love this recipe! It turns out quite dense, and more like a loaf - but don't let looks deceive you - its tastes AMAZING!!

Bliss Balls There are sooooo many delicious combos in here for you to check out!

Banana Bread I absolutely LOVE this recipe!! I swap the almond butter for tahini – delicious!

Hummus with veggie sticks or crackers Here is a basic recipe – but feel free to get creative! I love to add spices like cumin, turmeric, paprika and a splash of curry powder to mine. For a sweeter variation, the addition of roasted pumpkin is also delish!
